(This is gonna the best way to find what you need). Open the save file you want to change and Ctrl+F your spouses name. The files from PC must be edited to show version 1.4.4. Open Stardew Valley and make a new game to use as a reference file (or use a different save game where you arent married to that spouse). The current Switch Stardew Valley version is 1.4.4 while the current PC version is 1.4.5.Select the name you chose, restore with button.Backup any other save on the device using Checkpoint just in case.Open Checkpoint navigate to Stardew Valley.Inside of this folder place the folder named " name_123456789" that contains the two files (the edited SaveGameInfo and the edited and compressed name_123456789 file).Create a new folder inside of it with whatever text you want (this is just what you'll select in checkpoint).Locate Checkpoints Save Folder for Stardew Valley on your SD Card at " Sdmc:/Switch/Checkpoint/Saves/0x0100E65002BB8000 Stardew Valley".Use the compression tool to compress the name_123456789 file you just edited.Search for "gameVersion" change the number following from 1.4.5 to 1.4.4 - for me there were TWO instances of "gameVersion" in this file, make sure you change all of them. Search for "gameVersion" and change the number following from 1.4.5 to 1.4.4 - save and close. Backup Manager Added to Zip up saves etc.
This should add linebreaks and make the whole thing much more intelligible. MidgetMan updated Stardew Valley Save Editor with a new update entry: 0.0.8.0 Update. After it restarts and you open either file go to Plugins > XML Tools > Pretty print.
Optional step if you want to more easily read the file: In Notepad ++ go to Plugins > Plugin Admin.In this copy there should be two files, one with the same name as the folder ( name_123456789) and one named " SaveGameInfo" if there are more files in there you can delete.Make a copy (just anywhere on your computer) of the save folder there that's named something like " name_123456789".Navigate to "%APPDATA%/StardewValley/Save".Click to expand.Heres what I did and it worked:
